L&P Dealing mainly with professional photographers they may be a bit intimidating for beginners. They are also importers of a range of top-end gear. Ask for Gary he is extremely knowledgeable and quite approachable if he's had his coffee and donuts. Address: 96 Reserve Rd, Artarmon, NSW 2064 Phone:02 9906 2733
Dragon Image If you want to set up a home studio this place is like Aladdin's cave. Studio flash, Constant Light, Backdrop systems, Tripods etc. Their equipment is cheap and from my experience well backed up. Pete Munro is a wealth of information and a top photographer too. DPReview.com The most popular site for camera reviews started in 1998 and now gets thousands of hits every day. Based in England the editor Phil Askey is very well informed. Camera reviews are very detailed. It can however take a long time for reviews to appear. The site has belatedly started lens reviews.
Photozone The best website for lens reviews. Produced in Germany by Klaus Schroiff the site is in English. The great thing about the reviews is that they involve real world photography plus tests on the optical bench(the best of both worlds). Not just resolution but also distortion, vignetting and flare. A major undertaking. Keep up the great work Klaus.
Steve's Digicams Another excellent review site for cameras. Note that this is an American site so some of the model names are different to the ones used in Australia.

Magnum Founded in 1947 by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and David "Chim" Seymour this cooperative photo agency represents many of the world's best photographers. The website contains a huge selection of top quality photographs.

The Luminous Landscape Lots of useful information about all things photographic especially (as the name suggests) landscape photography. Graphically a bit jarring and "centered" text makes it uncomfortable to read long passages. But still a very useful site.
Popular Photography The on-line presence of the long running American photography magazine. The site has some detailed reviews and articles along with "teasers" for the current issue of the magazine.
Travel Photographer If you would like to see some more of my travel photography please visit the site. I have recently added images from Vietnam shot in March 2008.
