Sydney Photographic lessons and workshops
    Blue Mountains Workshop

These five hour workshops are ideal if you have already done the One Day Workshop or the Beginner's 3 hour class.

We will do a bit of recap of some of the basics e.g. depth of field, controlling movement with shutter speeds etc.

We will then look at subjects including composition, perspective and understanding light.

There will be tips on how to improve your landscape photography which we will then put into practice in this beautiful location.

If the weather is less favourable we will do parts of the workshop indoors. There will be lots of interesting stuff rain, hail or shine!

The workshop starts at 12 Noon. You might want to consider staying in the mountains overnight.

Blue Mountains Landscape in Mist

The Blue Mountains provides a wide range of beautiful natural subjects for the photographer including sweeping vistas, colourful fungi and prolific birdlife.

The many waterfalls make excellent subjects for the keen photographer.

There are also many art deco buildings that lend charm to the area and make interesting subjects for architectural photography.

We will visit one of the local cafes for a "coffee and cake break".

We travel around Katoomba and Leura by the Explorer Bus but there will be some walking including a few steep steps. An average level of fitness will be fine.

What to bring:
DSLR or high end digital compact (e.g. Canon G11);
Memory card(s); Lens(es); protection filters (UV or Skylight) for each lens; pen & paper.

Also useful:
Polarising filter, tripod (I have some that I lend out free of charge - let me know if you wish to borrow one).

The weather can be changeable at any time of the year in the mountains so bring something warm and rain resistant. Also make sure you have walking shoes/boots.

Dates to be announced soon.

    Duration: 5 Hours

    Class Size: 10 Max
Cost: $195 including Explorer Bus Pass, Coffee & Cake.
